Local Offer

Every local authority must publish a 'Local Offer ' which tells you what support is expected to be available for children and young people with special education needs and disabilities (SEND). It must include information about education, health and care provision for children and young people from birth to 25 years old. The quickest way to find information local to you is via an internet search for 'local offer' and your local authority (LA).

SENDIASS

Every local authority in England has a Special Education Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS is much easier to say). They provide free, confidential information, advice and support to children and young people with SEND. Please be aware that they are funded by the local authority and are often very busy. A quick internet search in your local area will provide you with the contact details for your local branch.

SEND Support and Advice - UPSEND
At UPSEND we understand the importance of community and support. We have created a closed, safe, supportive Facebook page consisting of the staff team at UPSEND and parents and carers. On the page we strongly encourage a positive, supportive environment that is a safe place to ask for advice, share knowledge and discuss issues relating to all things SEND. Please feel free to join the group here.
